Back to the Future Review

I watched a movie last night and decided that I should do a series of movie reviews. So here we are. I’ll review these movies and post them here! If there’s something you want me to review, let me know so I can watch it, then I’ll post the review here. I’ll do books as well, so keep watch!

Movie: Back to the Future

Year? 1985

Plot? I’ll try to summarize. Basically, Marty gets sent back to 1955 in a DeLorean time machine. He messes up his parents meeting, then has to try to fix it before he fades away, messing up space and time. Also, since plutonium hadn’t been found, he has to find a power source to get back to 1985, while trying to save his friend from getting shot by the Libyans.

Shipping? There is some shipping capability, but unless you want to ship Marty with his mother…there’s not much that ISN’T canon.

Rating? 😃 It’s not the best movie I’ve ever seen, that award goes to LOTR, but it’s certainly not the worst. I’d rate it 5 stars.

Merchandise? There’s a video game and likely some figurines somewhere.

Fandom? I have no clue. If there is, it’s probably a bunch of 40 year olds.

Recommended to? I’d recommend this to most everyone, sci-fi fans in particular. I don’t think that historical fiction fans would like this. Actually, they might when he’s in 1955.

Child-safe? I would call it mostly child safe. Biff tries to do, well, you know, with Lorraine. On the topic of Lorraine, she’s a little stalker-y and creepy, and a bit inappropriate. There’s a slight bit of cussing, but it’s nothing too bad. But I would say that over 7 year olds could watch it.

Rating? PG
Anyway, I thought it was a pretty good movie overall. The special effects were from the 80s, so keep that in mind if you’re a stickler for that. I recommend this to all of my viewers.

Eruanna

I’ve got this amazing friend. Her name is Eruanna. Well, that’s not her real name, but we call her that in Ladies of the Ring. I’ve never actually met her, but she’s one of the nices people I know.

This site called Stories of Arda broke her heart when this happened:

So I’d like everyone following this blog to go follow her and her blog, http://www.middlehyrule.wordpress.com. While you’re at it, if you could make her feel any better, I’d love you forever. She’s one of the best writers in the world and that site can’t see it.
So, here’s a few bits of poetry in your honor, sister that I haven’t even met!
Essence of Eruanna (sounds like perfume!)

Excellent

Rainbows are not as cool as you

U are perfect (sorry about the chat-speak Us are hard to work with)

Nice

Natty (means smart and fashionable)

An amazing friend
Eruanna

I have never met you

But you are my best friend

I hope that you are never sad

But there is no way for me to stop that from happening

I drive you insane with my off-topic

But it’s a good insane

I hope that when we’re old and gray

You’ll always remember me

As the best friend you never met.
Question: Can you nominate people for Stories of Arda? Because if you can, I want all of you to submit Eruanna’s stories to them and help her get on the site. She’s probably better than all of those other artists there.

Did I go a bit too far? NO! NO I DID NOT! ONE DOES NOT SIMPLY STAND FOR THEIR BEST FRIEND BEING TREATED THIS WAY BY A HEARTLESS OLD WOMAN! SHE’S WORSE THAN JEANINE AND PRESIDENT COIN COMBINED! Okay, MAYBE that was a bit much.

New Fanfic!

Oh my goodness. We have a tie on our new fanfiction!!! But, I’m making a decision. Since I have not yet beaten OOT…(sad, right?) I’ll do Saving Fandoms. But Saria will be coming next, then Seventh Year, then TRR. But I’m making ANOTHER decision! Seventh Year was my FAVORITE idea, so I’ll do that one as well.

The first chapter will be up whenever I finish it.
